Chinchilla City was established in February of 2005 in order to provide quality safe fun toys for pet chinchillas.  At Chinchilla City our resident chinchillas, Chub and Hobo, test out and use all the products we offer to sell.  If we wouldn’t give it to our chinchillas, we won’t sell it for yours.  Chinchilla City is by chinchilla owners for chinchilla owners.

About Our Toys

All of our toys are Chinchilla City original creations and each toy is carefully hand assembled. Due to the nature of the materials used, each toy may vary slightly with regards to size, shape, and color. All our natural woods such as apple, pecan, and grapevine are cut from an organic farm where no pesticides or chemicals were used and the wood is kiln dried.  Our loofah is grown naturally in the USA.  We use only chinchilla safe woods, natural vine products, loofah, colorant, and at times small amounts of non-toxic glue.  We use galvanized wire and nickle-plaited chain on hanging toys.  If you prefer non-colored wood on toys, please contact us as this may be a possibility depending on our inventory at the time.  Our fleece hammocks and pillows are made from Anti-Pill or Blizzard fleece with minimal exposed stitching.

Meet Our Chinchillas

Chub was born 2/25/04 in Illinois.  He was a single kit and very sweet and friendly.  Chub was an only chin here for 6 months and now best friends with Hobo.  His favorite toys are pecan wood and hammocks.

Hobo was born 8/14/04 in WA.  He was a triplet and is very outgoing.  He was shipped here from his breeder and on the way took an accidental detour to NY so that is how he got his name.  His favorite toys are pine blocks, pumice, and he loves to make noise with bells.
